Privacy

This site has no user accounts, no comments and no tracking cookies.

Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them.

Email. If you write to us at info@windspellers.com, we use your message only to reply.

CV builder. The CV builder runs in your browser. What you type, your photo and your CV are not stored by us anywhere: they stay in your browser tab until you close it. If you save a draft, it is a file on your own device.

  • Uploading a CV. If you upload an existing CV, the file is sent once to an AI service (Anthropic, the maker of Claude) to fill in the form for you. It is not stored by us and not used to train AI. The same applies to text you send with "Suggest plain wording".
  • Daily limit. To stop misuse of the AI features, we count how often they are used per visitor per day. For this we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address (not the address itself) for one day.
  • Counts. We count how many CVs are downloaded. Nothing about you or your CV is sent. So that the number stays honest, one visitor counts at most three times a day, using the same one-day scrambled code.
  • Job titles. We count the job titles typed into "Target role" to improve the suggestions. Only the title is sent, nothing else.

Job alerts. If you sign up for job alerts, we keep your email address and which alerts you chose (urgent jobs, sent in one email each morning when there are new ones; the weekly digest; and any role, onshore/offshore or country choices). Nothing else. We use them only to send you those emails, and only after you confirm your address from the email we send you. Your address is stored and the emails are sent by MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Vilnius, Lithuania, EU). MailerLite may record whether an email was opened or a link clicked, and we look at this only to see whether the alerts are useful. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and when you use it, you stop getting alerts straight away. You can also ask us at any time to delete your address. If an address already gets alerts, signing up again only adds alerts it doesn't get yet; it never changes or removes the existing choices, so nobody else can change your alerts. To stop misuse, we allow a few sign-ups per visitor a day, using a scrambled code made from the IP address (not the address itself), kept for one day.

We also note on which page you first signed up (for example an article, the CV builder or the job board), and we count sign-ups per page anonymously to see which places are useful: the count holds no email, and so that one person counts once a day we keep a scrambled code (not the address itself) for one day. So that the CV builder doesn't ask you again, your browser remembers on your own device that you signed up; nothing about this is sent to us.

Job board counts. We count job page views and Apply clicks anonymously (date, job, device type, where the visit came from) to improve the job board. We don't store your name, email, IP address or use tracking cookies. So that one person clicking the same job several times in a day counts once, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address (not the address itself) for one day. The kind of site you came from (for example Google, LinkedIn or one of our job alert emails) is remembered only in your open browser tab and is gone when you close it.

Posting a job. If you send us a job with the "Post a job" form, we keep the company, your name, your email and the job details, and use them only to review the job, publish it if it fits, and reply to you. The form is handled by Netlify, our website host. You can ask us at any time to delete your details.

Support payments. If you choose to support us, the payment happens on Ko-fi (ko-fi.com), not on this site. Ko-fi and its payment partners handle your details under their own privacy policies. If you choose to be listed on our supporters page, we show only the name you gave for that purpose, and we remove it whenever you ask.
